The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur has announced an open competition for organizations to submit proposals to carry out a program in Malaysia to develop content focused on addressing violent extremism and promoting positive decision making among Malaysian youth.
Program Objectives
The Embassy is seeking an organization with experience in creating CVE-focused programs and content in Malaysia to produce documentaries, podcasts, and social media posts effective in countering violent extremism. A successful proposal will integrate the training of a diverse collection of young, local talent to produce their own content effective in supporting CVE efforts.
Specific Objectives:
- Production of at least three documentaries (video, radio and/or online) focused on contemporary domestic/regional issues related to extremism in Malaysia.
- The project should provide for the training of a diverse collection of Malaysian content designers, representing several backgrounds, to produce effective CVE-focused content.
- The proposal should include a plan to publicize the content throughout the country in a wide variety of distribution channels including:
- National/regional media
- Road Shows
- Radio
- Online

- Award Ceiling: $250,000
- Award Floor: $200,000
